Her mother is Hríma frá Hofi, 1st prize mare with 8.11 in total (8.5 tölt, trot, spirit, and general impression), and has herself three 1st prize offsprings and is also the mother of the Álfur son Hvinur frá Blönduósi, who, due to an injury, was never evaluated for ridden abilities, but has already given quite some impressive 1st prize offsprings. Hríma is also half sister of Hrymur from Hofi, they share the same mother, Hlökk frá Hólum, a Feykir daughter.
Hnikka's father is Kjerúlf frá Kollaleiru, who in 2016 received the 1st prize for offsprings. Kjerúlf s evaluated with 8.14 conformation, 8.64 ridden abilities, and 8.44 in total. He received 9.5 for trot, and 9 for tölt, slow tölt, spirit, and general impression.
